Samsung Gear

The Samsung Gear application connects your Samsung Gear to your mobile device. It also manages and monitors the Samsung Gear features and applications you've installed through Gear Apps.

Use the Samsung Gear application to set up and manage the following features:
- Mobile device connection/disconnection
- Software updates
- Clock settings
- Application download and settings
- Find my Gear
- Notification type and settings, etc.

Install the Samsung Gear application on your mobile device, then pair your Samsung Gear via Bluetooth to enjoy all of its features.

※ Settings and features provided by the Samsung Gear application are only available when your Samsung Gear is connected to your mobile device. Features will not work properly without a stable connection between your Samsung Gear and your mobile device.

※ The Samsung Gear application does not support the Gear VR or Gear 360.

※ The Samsung Gear application cannot be used with tablets. And supported devices vary depending on your region, operator, and device model.

• Telephone: Used to check device-unique identification information for updating apps and installing plug-in apps

[Optional permissions]
• Contacts: Used to provide services that need to be linked with accounts using registered Samsung account information

Great app for tracking my exercise and health levels

Not as helpful as it used to be. Calculator no longer exists, weather stopped working ever since I upgraded to the Note 8 and HERE maps is long gone. Hate to say it but Apple Watch is kicking our behinds right now. Come on SAMSUNG!

It's good, not great. There should be a patch update allowing to use the Samsung Gear G3 as a phone by itself without your nearby cellular exactly like the new Apple 3G phone. Not only that, but the Samsung Gear G3 should have an advantage over the new Apple 3G phone in every possible way. There is no reason why the Samsung Gear G3 should not have it right now as an update. Samsung can easily do it. PERIOD.

Since I have the Note 8, it won't connect to my Gear 2 watch. I tried resetting and uninstalling several times, but the "cancel" and "reset" Option keeps popping up. Watch and app worked fine on my Note 5.
